Tikvah Special Needs Council
Tikvah Special Needs Council of Tampa Jewish Family Services, established in January 1997, offers those with developmental disabilities a support group and activities to help them participate in community activities. Tikvah is open to families on both sides of Tampa Bay.
The Tampa JCC/Federation has agreed to provide land on its Community Campus for construction of a group home for developmentally disabled adults and preliminary plans have been drawn for a 24-apartment facility. Gulf Coast Jewish Family Services is assisting The Tampa Jewish Family Services in planning the project, which is expected to draw from families in Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough counties.
