About Ashalim

Ashalim responds to the immense and varied needs of children and youth at risk in Israel. Some children suffer from poor nutrition that hinders their physical and cognitive development, others are victims of abuse or neglect, and many more feel disenfranchised and alienated from their schools, families or communities. Some are living in poverty, others are exposed to crime and violence, and still others experience war-related trauma. Children and youth with special needs and children of immigrants and minority groups face the extra challenge of integration in society. They are all vulnerable.

Ashalim works on their behalf by strengthening the Israeli service systems – expanding the range of services and programs, improving available services and supporting field professionals. Ashalim's efforts are helping thousands of Israel's young citizens fulfill their potential, grow up in nurturing families and communities, and fully integrate in society – thereby strengthening the fabric of Israeli society
