Hadera: Our Sister City

No visit to Israel is complete without a visit to our sister community, the Hadera-Eiron Region, where Israel's ancient history meets Israel's modern history.  Situated about 25 miles north of Tel Aviv, the Hadera-Eiron region is bounded by the Mediterranean Sea to the west, and the autonomous Palestinian zone to the east.

Israel Partnership (formerly known as Partnership 2000 or P2K), is at the heart of the relationship between a new Israel and our Diaspora communities and is a program of the Jewish Agency for Israel. It is a program that links communities throughout the Diaspora with regions in Israel. It brings representatives from the Jewish federations together with professionals and entrepreneurs in Israel to work together to develop economies, communities and relationships.

The effort was launched in 1995 and concentrates on Israel's peripheral areas, like the Negev and Galilee, which hold more than two-thirds of Israel's land reserves, yet house only 17% of the population. The regions' potential for development and immigrant absorption remains largely untapped because of high unemployment rates and weak educational infrastructure.

The next time you are in Israel, for pleasure or on business, plan to visit this beautiful region, where Israel’s ancient history meets Israel’s modern history.
